The Anesthesia Technician assists with the anesthesia care team by acquiring and preparing the use of supplies during anesthesia care. This position assists with special procedures and offers support for routine and complex surgical cases. The Anesthesia Technician functions under the supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider designated by Altru Health System.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborates with RN circulators, Surgical Technicians, Service Technicians, and BioMed department.
Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders/stocks and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies. Prepares and maintains anesthesia monitoring devices and delivery systems.
Participates in anesthesia meetings and in-services as needed.
Provides anesthesia technician services to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider in accordance to ASATT Scope of Practice.
Maintains anesthesia medications, supplies, and equipment according to needs and schedules.
Assists with the transport of patients and laboratory specimens as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
