How will you make an impact?
Be a valuable member of the Global Digital organization at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Use your software expertise to develop successful solutions for the semiconductor business.
What will you do?
Develop instrument control software for controlling the next generation of electron microscopes that are key to helping our semiconductor customers solve their most meaningful problems more effectively
Participate in the full software development lifecycle from inception to completion including requirements analysis, specification, design, implementation, and testing
How will you get here?
Education requirement:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred, but applicants with equivalent experience will also be considered.
Experience requirement:
5+ years of demonstrated ability with writing SW for controlling hardware
Up-to-date knowledge and in-depth understanding of C++ / C#
Hands on experience with Object Oriented Design, State Modeling, and Test Driven Development is preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and .NET technologies
Experience with micro-services architecture patterns
Experience with Git, GitLab, Jira
Solid proficiency in software-engineering practices such as requirements, design, agile processes, unit-testing, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of capital equipment manufacturing, electron microscopy, or semiconductor industries is a plus
Subject area, pride, and integrity to write clean, unit-testable code
Able to comprehend complex data and use it to tackle issues
Strong ability to analyze and solve problems empirically, as well as fix issues effectively
Able to travel internationally/domestically
