SummaryThe Staff Therapist, Training Coordinator is part of a team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach. This position resides within the Counseling Center, and reports to the Counseling Center Director. The individual in this position is responsible for delivering clinical services, participating in community engagement activities, and coordinating training and staff development.
As a member of the Counseling Center, this position provides and supervises student mental health services, including urgent walk-in assessments, consultations, individual psychotherapy, group therapy and workshops. The therapist also participates in designing and delivering outreach programs to students, as well as developing materials and presentations on topics pertinent to various University constituencies. Activities such as data collection and analysis, as well as program coordination, may also be pursued at times. The therapist participates regularly in Counseling Center staff meetings and trainings. The Training Coordinator is part of the Counseling Center Leadership Team and is responsible for the development and coordination of training program, supervision of trainees, coordination of unlicensed clinical staff, assisting with onboarding of new clinical staff, and coordinating and providing continuing education for all clinical mental health therapy staff.

·Master's Degree or other terminal degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or other closely related field
·Licensed to practice clinical mental health therapy in the State of Louisiana or eligible by date of hire to obtain Louisiana licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
·Experience delivering group interventions (interpersonal, support, skill-building).
·Experience working with university students in a university counseling setting.
·Training and experience working with substance abuse issues.
·Experience working with BIPOC students, students from all economic classes, first generation students, LGBTQ students, and international students.
·Demonstrated ability to handle spontaneous work demands while undertaking projects that require advanced planning.
·Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology, counseling, or social work and licensed to practice provision of mental health therapy services in the State of Louisiana or eligible by date of hire to obtain Louisiana licensure.
·Training and experience in providing clinical supervision.
