Test ProctorDescription/Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Testing, or designee the Test Proctor may work 25-30 hours per week and provides proctoring services for several tests offered in the Testing Center including, but not limited to Accuplacer, ParaPro, GED, and other assessments. The Proctor follows check-in procedures in accordance with the appropriate test being administered. The Test Proctor monitors students and ensures that all test takers adhere to BCCC's Academic Honesty policy. The Proctor provides overall support services for the Test Center and performs additional work as assigned. More than one position may be filled with this posting.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provides testing services to all students during the day, evening, and weekend hours.

  • Proctors classroom testing for departmental exams as required.

  • Sets up testing computers and makes sure they are operational.

  • Records all incoming faculty exams and provides follow-up verification to the faculty members.

  • Ensures that all test administration requirements are met and reports issues related to the successful administration of exams.

  • Ensures students are following all test administration requirements and reports irregular testing issues related to breeches in testing protocols and academic dishonesty.

  • Submits monthly reports on assessment activities to the director.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or a minimum of 60 college credit hours towards a bachelor's degree

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Proficiency in the use of software applications (MS Office Suite), the Internet and other office equipment

  • 1-year experience working as a proctor in a public school or professional testing center.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1-year of experience providing online testing in a testing center at a college or university.

  • Knowledge of Banner or other Student Information System

  • Community College Experience
