Adjunct Lecturer for Geospatial Analysis
The Center for Geospatial Analysis (CGA) is the comprehensive resource for William & Mary students, faculty, staff and community partners interested in the ever evolving field of geospatial technologies. Our mission is to provide access to geospatial technologies and the expertise to support learning and research using these powerful analytic mapping tools. The CGA fosters teaching, research, and public service as an integral part of education linked through programs designed to preserve, transmit and expand knowledge of geospatial technologies [e.g. geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing technologies (RS), global positioning systems (GPS), and small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS or drones)].
The Center for Geospatial Analysis at William & Mary is recruiting a pool or persons for possible part-time adjunct teaching positions. We seek a colleague with a commitment to excellence in teaching with both undergraduate and graduate students in small class settings (1:14) and large class settings (1:80).
This pool will be accessed ONLY when an opening arises. Your credentials will remain active as long as the pool position is available but no more than one academic year. After the pool closes and if you are still interested, you must reapply to the most current adjunct pool.
A Master's degree or equivalent experience is required. Proficiency in ESRI GIS products (e.g. ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online). Demonstrated expertise in one or more geospatial technology(ies) [e.g. geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing technologies (RS), global positioning systems (GPS), small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS or drones), spatial data management approaches, and computer programming to solve geospatial analytical problems].
A Ph.D. is preferred by time of appointment, area of specialty is open. August 10 for fall or January 10 for spring start date. Previous teaching experience is preferred and/or applied experience outside of academic settings is also preferred.
