The Department of Kinesiology at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, seeks applications for two tenure track positions at the Assistant Professor level in Human Physiology. Appointments will begin August 10, 2025. We are interested in individuals with research and teaching expertise in all areas of human physiology with a preference for applicants whose expertise and research complement that of current faculty members in the department. For example, expertise in digestive physiology and nutrient metabolism, renal physiology, or respiratory physiology is highly desirable.
Duties include research, teaching, and service to the University. The applicant is expected to establish and maintain a vibrant externally funded research program that inspires a highly motivated undergraduate student body. Teaching expectation is 2 courses per semester. Successful applicants must possess the skills to teach compelling courses in Human Physiology and other lecture and seminar-style courses, including their area of specialty.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in an area of physiology or a related field at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2025). Applicants must provide evidence of scholarly achievement or demonstrate potential as a scholar (i.e. publication number and quality, research plans, and past, current, or potential external funding).
Previous experience in teaching and mentoring successful undergraduate research is preferred. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Ability to teach Human Anatomy is desirable.
