SCOPE OF POSITION
Provision of social work services to inpatients and outpatients and their families in The Ohio State University Medical Center and clinics.
POSITION SUMMARY
Social work services include psychosocial assessments, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, financial counseling, discharge planning, health education and the provision of material resources and linkage with community agencies. Social work services are provided to patients/families to meet their medically related social and emotional needs as they impact on their medical condition, treatment, recovery and safe transition from one care environment to another. Core competencies include : Psychosocial assessment, counseling and crisis intervention skills, Knowledge of the PASRR process for extended care facility placement and the assessment and counseling processes involved, and skills assessing neglect/abuse, including substance abuse and domestic violence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Masters of Social Work from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work; State of Ohio licensure (LSW or LISW). Experience in a healthcare or medically related setting.
