Overview:The Audiovisual Infrastructure department is part of the Technology Infrastructure department within Information Services and is responsible for all AV infrastructure in all university spaces. This includes approximately 250 classrooms, dozens of conference rooms, and several other unique spaces. Within these spaces, Quinnipiac has a variety of AV footprints ranging from simple classrooms with projection and wireless/wired connectivity to large lecture halls with video teleconferencing, lecture capture technologies, digital whiteboards, and advanced Crestron control systems, and everything in between. The AV Systems Administrator position is part of a team responsible for the general maintenance and support of all the AV related infrastructure. This team is also responsible for setting up additional equipment for larger events, where additional equipment is required, or events that occur in spaces that do not have AV equipment. The AV Systems Administrator also participates in design and engineering of new AV initiatives, including refreshes and new construction.About Quinnipiac:Quinnipiac University is a private, coeducational institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. Monitor the status of all rooms to ensure all AV systems are functioning properly.
Support campus events that require additional AV setup or support as needed. There are events that need support during off hours, including nights and weekends.
Provide quick and customer-friendly service to all customers seeking audio-visual assistance, maintenance, or advice.
Maintain inventory and status of loaner AV equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair various types of AV equipment as required.
Be available for off-hours (nights and weekend) coverage for major university events.
Work with equipment vendors to resolve technical issues when required.
Assist in the design and development of audio, visual, and data conferencing solutions. Provide cost-effective and user-friendly solutions for integrated conference room build-outs.
Work closely with project and design teams as well as with audio-visual vendors (e.g., LCD displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, etc.) throughout the project life-cycle.
Install, test, and support on-site audio-visual systems for internal clients and research projects.
Develop audio-visual drawings/diagrams as needed.
Education Requirements:
Associate's Degree required
Master's degree preferred
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience supporting audiovisual technologies, preferably in a higher education environment
Experience troubleshooting all basic AV technologies, including projectors, flat panel displays, touch screens, and necessary connectivity of various client devices is required
The Quinnipiac AV Infrastructure is heavily dependent on Zoom and the Zoom Rooms architecture. Experience with and working expertise with Zoom Room technology is extremely helpful
Quinnipiac is currently standardized on Logitech hardware for smaller classrooms and most conference rooms. Experience with the Logitech video conferencing ecosystem is helpful
Training and experience with Crestron controls (or similar) is very important and any experience with Crestron programming is helpful
Basic to intermediate skills and experience troubleshooting a wide range of client computer and mobile devices, specifically around AV related software and connectivity.
Experience designing AV for new spaces and participating in construction projects where AV is required is a plus
Good writing and communication skills
Familiarity with project management
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
