The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is seeking a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the appointment stream to conduct research focusing on exploring the role of fibrin-targeted microbubbles and nanodroplets in microvascular obstruction treatment by ultrasound-targeted microbubbles cavitation technique. Duties include performing surgeries on animals (rodents and pigs) to test the proposed microbubble and nanodroplet formulations. They will also be responsible for the preparation of our ticagrelor-coated stents to be studied and tested in our NIH R33. The Research Assistant Professor will also be developing a mouse tumor model of triple-negative breast cancer to test a microbubble formulation that incorporates an antineoplastic nitroalkene molecule. This role will supervise junior lab trainees and will assist in IACUC protocol submission. They will independently prepare manuscripts and present their work locally, nationally, and internationally.

Minimum Qualifications - PhD in Philosophy, Biology, or related field. Postdoctoral experience for a minimum of 2 years with
experience in principles and techniques of biochemistry, physiology, and molecular biology.
