Position: New Products Engineer Co-op / Intern

Position Purpose
Assists NP Engineering Team in new processes and product development for fabrication, machining, and/or the assembly of suspension components/systems for the facility as a student Co-op/Intern for the purpose of exposure and learning in association with the requirements of an accredited engineering degree program.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in the develop, implement, and maintain effective, robust, ergonomic, and safe
new product processes.

• Work directly with New Product Development on design for manufacturability for future products. FORMTEXT FFFFFFFF0000640014000500540065007800740031000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
• Participate on Simultaneous Product Process Development (SPPD) Teams as required.
• Support TS16949 certification initiatives.
• Become familiar with A.P.Q.P. process associated with launching new products.
• Assist engineering team in supporting customers with resolutions to concerns and enhancements for new product applications.
• Work with engineering team to define product and process improvements for potential cost savings.
• Work with New Product Engineering, Quality Department and Production Department to aid in New Product manufacturing issues.
• All other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
• Actively enrolled in an Engineering degree program in pursuit of an engineering related degree (Sophomore or above).
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Drafting Software Knowledge (preferred).
Minimum Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program in pursuit of degree.
• Fabrication experience preferred.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Good Communication Skills
• Hands-on, systematic individual
• Mechanical aptitude, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
• Professionalism and integrity to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization.
