Be a part of our story. The Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing (iFAB) Tech Hub was awarded $51M in implementation funding in July 2024. This federally-funded program has a goal of becoming a global leader in biomanufacturing and precision fermentation over the next decade. The economic development mission of the Hub is an exciting opportunity to engage with partners across the Central Illinois region and the state.


iFAB is led by the Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory (IBRL) in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. IBRL serves as the home for the Office of Regional Innovation for iFAB and the goals of both organizations will be aligned.


The Business Associate will be responsible for creating and executing strategic communications to support the advancement of the Illinois Fermentation and
Agriculture Biomanufacturing (iFAB) and Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory (IBRL). We are seeking a dynamic addition to the iFAB team with responsibilities in tracking and sharing iFAB's impact:


Data Management (65%)


• Identify and manage the best Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool for data management based on


federal sponsor's expectations.


• Design, create, and maintain KPI dashboards for the Tech Hub and its members.


• Work with University of Illinois organizations who utilize CRMs to determine best practices.


• Work with iFAB members to collect data on categories such as: fermentation tank capacity, jobs created,


industry partnerships, training programs and training program graduates.


• Collect data on competing landscapes to strongly position iFAB for business attraction.


• Work with the IBRL business office to track IBRL information in IBRL CRM tool and iFAB CRM tool.


• Work with communications team to find ways to visualize and distribute the data to show iFAB impact.


Reporting (25%)


• Serve as the point of contact for data and grant reporting/post award with the federal and other sponsors.


• Development of routine reports on Hub's impact.


• Participate in Hub Advisory Board meetings and present data.


Other Duties (10%)


• Visit iFAB partners to meet with project leads.


• Other duties as assigned.



Position Requirements and Qualifications


Education:


Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, data management, information sciences, or related field

Experience:


Required:

  • Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work
    experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with a CRM tool such as Salesforce, Insightly, HubSpot, and/or Apptivo.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data management for a federally-funded grant.

  • Experience working with complex nonprofit, business, academic, research and/or government environments.

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent in-state travel; occasional domestic overnight travel.

Appointment Information


This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5010 - Business/Administrative Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close date. The budgeted salary range for the position is $55,000-$60,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
