The Adult Criminal Justice and Treatment Services (ACJS) supports clients who may have struggles related to a substance use disorder. We provide opportunities for clients to rebuild their lives so they can become healthy and self-sufficient. ACJS' work includes screening and assessments for substance use disorders, placing clients into treatment programs, monitoring and reporting on progress, and providing support including, but not limited to, insurance enrollment, obtaining a state ID, and finding employment resources.

We are currently looking for full-time – Counselor

Starting at $41,600– contingent upon experience, education, etc.

Summary: The Treatment Counselor position provides direct clinical services in a one on one and/or group setting with individuals with substance use disorders. These services will include assessing an individual's clinical needs, goal planning and objectives within the guidelines established by the agency and primary care provider.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides education and support through group counseling and individual sessions
  • Required to complete a comprehensive behavioral health assessment to determine the client's current behavioral health diagnosis
  • Collaborates with individuals to develop and/or review an individualized treatment plan
  • Assess, evaluate, and monitor individuals' progress towards established goals and objectives
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners, participate in staff meetings and monthly supervisions
  • Participates in clinical staffing with individuals receiving TASC services as needed
  • Completes continued stay reviews and collaborates with individuals in developing a discharge and continuing care plan
  • Completes and submits internal and external program reports
  • Maintains all required individual and program related documentation which includes, documenting the results of screenings, enrollments, service plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and other individual-related activities
  • Meets weekly production service goals based on agency expectations
Requirements:

Our Ideal candidate

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, in social work, psychology, sociology, business from an accredited college or university or related field or four years' experience in human services. Certain programs may require a higher level of education based on contractual obligations. (Master Degree)
  • Ability to obtain CADC certification within the first two years in the field
  • Specific knowledge necessary for working with individuals and families engaged in high-risk behaviors
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation

The agency currently offers hybrid work schedules that combines in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week with the option to work up to two days remotely.
