We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, with hands-on experience in month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate cost analysis and financial compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to GAAP and company-specific reporting requirements.
Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, utilities, and reclassifications.
Monitor and support the processing of Purchase Orders, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Analyze Greenville-related expenses and generate financial reports for stakeholders.
Manufacturing Cost Management:
Project monthly cash payments by evaluating PO volumes and payment terms.
Maintain and review standard costs for the Greenville facility, analyzing variances between actual and expected costs.
Support cost control initiatives and waste reduction efforts within the manufacturing process.
Conduct variance analysis related to pricing, materials, and labor.
Inventory Management:
Manage inventory adjustments and ensure accurate posting of physical counts.
Calculate and report fully loaded costs for each SKU, including material and item charges.
Prepare monthly inventory valuation entries and conduct periodic inventory audits.
Fixed Assets:
Assist in tracking and managing CAPEX projects.
Support the activation of CAPEX and confirm accurate depreciation entries.
Tax & Compliance:
Assist with Sales and Use Tax submissions and other incentive programs.
Support audits conducted by the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR).
File end-of-year tax forms and surveys.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including macros, pivot tables, and advanced functions like XLOOKUP).
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience with month-end close, audit, standard costing, budgeting
2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Microsoft NAV or other ERP systems.
