General Summary:. The IT Service Desk Support Staff are information technology professionals who provide onsite telephone, email, and in person support for the Technology Center Service Desk to a diverse community of technology users on the College's Bedford and Lowell Campuses. The IT Service Desk Support Staff would assist students, faculty and staff in their technology needs. These positions would be a great opportunity for Middlesex Community College students seeking to start a career in Information Technology. These vacancies are funded through the Biotechnology Learn and Earn Grant.
Essential Job Functions
Deploy, configure, install, and provide ongoing support for HP and Apple computers, virtual desktops, and mobile devices.
Assist with peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and projectors.
Provide onsite support at the Service Desk Walk-In Support Centers.
Deliver and support classroom technology for events and conferences.
Install new and upgraded operating systems and software.
Offer technical assistance on hardware, software, and MCC-related accounts.
Manage Service Desk tickets and Media setup calendars.
Proactively manage antivirus software and address emergent threats.
Review Security Operations Centre (SOC) documents and assess vendor risk.
Assist the Information Security Officer (ISO) with all information security-related tasks.
Craft engaging newsletters to enhance cybersecurity awareness across the college campus.
Job Requirements:
Enrollment in an MCC program such as IT Support and Networking, Cybersecurity Operations, or Advanced Cybersecurity Operations.
Completion of ITC 111, ITC 281, NST 231.
Basic knowledge of Windows, iOS, HP, Android, and Macintosh computers.
Proficient in using mobile technology, basic software, and internet skills.
Qualifications Acquired on the Job
Knowledge of MCC's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
