Responsibilities


Position Summary With general leadership from the Vice President of Tech Operations, the Director of MOC, CASS and Continuous Improvement is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating activities related to continuous improvement for PSA Airlines. This position will oversee a growing organization that takes great pride in safety, reliability, and technical advancements. Job Responsibilities
  • Maintains responsibility and authority to plan, direct, and control resources, change procedures, and make key determinations (including safety risk acceptance decisions) for PSA Airlines' Maintenance Operations Control Department.

  • Maintains responsibility and authority to plan, direct, and control resources, change procedures, and make key determinations (including safety risk acceptance decisions) for PSA Airlines' CASS program.

  • Responsible for Regulatory Compliance - Maintenance.

  • Directs the establishment of all performance metrics for the Maintenance Division.

  • Reviews and influences maintenance performance against established procedures and standards.

  • Analyze business processes, develop strategies, lead activities, monitor progress and provide mentorship within the Tech Ops organization.

  • Initiates and develops projects to improve performance of people, equipment, processes and enable better performance within the entire Maintenance Organization.

  • Has the authority to request resources from the various departments within Tech Ops to accomplish identified performance enhancing projects.

  • Complying with applicable company policies, procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations.

  • Drive a culture of safety and compliance.

  • Coaches and develops subordinate team members.

  • Initiates and develops recommended revisions to the General Maintenance Manual.

  • Develops training requirements and works with Training/People Team to provide requested content.
  • Recommends to the Vice President of Tech Ops staffing and maintenance specialties by location.
  • Creates and maintains the KPIs for MOC, CASS and will be responsible for the content and execution of Maintenance performance briefings.
  • Will work closely with American Airlines personnel with regard to PSA Maintenance Initiatives.
  • Closely works with AA IT to define projects and reporting needs.
  • In the case of the temporary absence of the Director of Maintenance will become acting Director of Maintenance.
  • In the case of the temporary absence of the Vice President of Tech Ops, could be asked to become acting VP of Tech Ops.
  • Examines, assesses, and analyzes continuous improvement (CI) opportunity areas and deploys CI resources as required.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Specifics


Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or related

  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification

  • Must meet requirements described in 14 CFR Part 119.67(c)

  • At least five years of experience within the last eight years leading teams within a Part 121 maintenance organization.

  • Extensive experience working across organizational boundaries

  • Proficient knowledge in Continuous Analysis and Surveillance Systems

  • Extensive experience operating in an organized labor environment

  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to speak/read/write in English

  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US

Preferred

  • Lean, Quality Driven Management or Six Sigma Certification
  • Lean Continuous Improvement certification – Green or Black Belt
