STAFF ACCOUNTANT SUMMARY: Responsible for various accounting responsibilities and procedures to help ensure accuracy of financial records and assist in maintaining appropriate accounting control procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


· Processes journal entries to allocate various expenses, while ensuring accurate and appropriate recording.

· Processes weekly vendor payments.

· Processes virtual credit card vouchers and corresponding payments.

· Runs daily reports for positive pay.

· Applies daily deposits to customer accounts.

· Assists with reviewing weekly timesheets to ensure compliance with company policies.

· Provides assistance to Accounts Payable Specialist and Vice President of Finance as needed.

· Researches supporting documentation for accounting transactions such as accounts payable, invoices, billings, equipment, and other records for discrepancies and substantiation.

· Assists with financial audit preparation.

· Performs other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Accounting; two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial documents, contracts, regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math necessary for accounting functions, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles and the ability to apply concepts.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


COMPUTER SKILLS: Working knowledge of Office software programs in accounting, Database software; Internet software; PowerPoint, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
