Title: Concierge Banking Assistant

Salary Range: Based on Experience

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00

Category: Full Time

Reports To: VP of Retail


SUMMARY


The position of Concierge Banking Assistant is responsible for assisting the Concierge Banker with day-to-day operations as well as data processing systems and software within the departments.


In addition, the Concierge Banking Assistant assures compliance with all SVB policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal regulations.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Provides administrative and general clerical support for servicing and assistance as needed. Including new accounts, filing, paperwork finalization, etc.
  2. Provides extensive personalized customer service in various capacities, understanding their unique needs and requirements, and providing innovative and customized banking solutions specifically tailored for each customer.
  3. Provides personal banking account advice, including suggestions for account resolution and other information to assigned customers as needed.
  4. Provides customers with account information and updates as required.
  5. Assists customers in establishing new accounts, preparing loan documents, and completing customer account files.
  6. Performs Personal banking functions that include: opening accounts, closing accounts and routine maintenance of accounts including certificates of deposit.
  7. Maintain a high level of service delivery for retail banking products and services along the standard of Hug Your Customers.
  8. Independently make sound decisions based upon Bank policies, knowledge, and experience.
  9. Processes and resolves general customer transactions, problems or inquiries. Assists with document follow-up.

The position of Concierge Banking Assistant is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).


ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY


The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.


The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 30 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

MENTAL DEMANDS


The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution operations, sales or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Utilize MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint with a high degree of proficiency
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of general office practices.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.


The incumbent must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering the health or safety to him/herself or others.
