The NWN Program Manager (PGM) is responsible for managing all IT based business solutions projects sold to medium and large accounts in the Enterprise, Commercial, State and Local, and K-12 verticals. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, overseeing multiple related projects that contribute to a larger program or strategic goal for assigned account(s).
Scope of Role Responsibilities
The scope of essential job responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Managing a portfolio of projects aligned to an account and/or specialization while maintaining 80% utilization.
Responsible for driving project and portfolio success by:
Maintaining high customer satisfaction for each project in their assigned portfolio
Maintaining projects on schedule and within budget by proactively mitigating issues and risks that could impact scope, duration, and/or costs
Maintaining alignment with identified strategic goals for an assigned portfolio while working to identify opportunities to upsell and/or cross-sell NWN Carousel services and offerings
Oversee all activities of project personnel and shared corporate resources to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget. Identify and solution for any organizational obstacles to success and ensure lessons are shared for future programs
Follow the NWNC Project Management delivery methodology including but not limited to:
Working with assigned Project Managers to facilitate project kickoff meetings in a timely manner
Working with assigned Project Managers to develop a comprehensive, integrated master schedule that highlights the critical path across multiple parallel projects
Implement program governance to monitor, measure, and report on progress to management and clients on a regular cadence
Ensure the development and approval of business and technical requirements documentation, client deliverables, and associated project artifacts
Forecast revenue regularly & accurately across all projects in the assigned portfolio and mitigate any risks to those commitments throughout the program life cycle
Conduct formal closure on all projects within the assigned portfolio(s) and ultimately program closure with any required supporting documentation
The scope of additional job responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Understand and articulate all NWNC service offerings and capabilities
Represent NWNC with contractors, suppliers, customers, departments, and other parties as required
Understand implementing and tracking changes via Change Management
Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Role Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will meet these minimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Subject matter expert knowledge of project and program management best practices (based on the PMBOK).
Current PMP Certification preferred
Business process optimization experience with the ability to collect business and technical requirements and develop process workflows to solve problems
10+ years of IT project and program management experience
Includes experience developing project plans that include a project charter, project schedule, project scope statement, project management approach, change management plans, project communication plans, project resource needs, and cost estimates
10+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams and staff of all levels
Experience creating a portfolio revenue forecast and maintaining its integrity throughout
Extensive experience organizing large or complex projects into a master schedule, along with any sub projects, while optimizing resource utilization across the portfolio
Ability to mentor and train other PMO members
Experience leading other project managers on larger engagements as a central point of contact and escalation point
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
Exceptional client facing communications and presentation skills
