Position Summary

The Lead Technician (Wire) is responsible for leading and motivating a team of technicians, ensuring the daily improvement of their technical skills and overall work performance. This role involves setting a strong example through leadership, fostering a safe work environment, and adhering to all safety protocols. The Lead Technician utilizes previous building and production knowledge to guide the team in achieving efficient and high-quality job completion.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm

Primary Responsibilities


  • Ability to Lead by example, train, motivate and improve all Techs skills daily.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and following protocols to ensure employees safety and training.
  • Use previous building knowledge gained to lead all techs to achieve efficient job completion.
  • Communicates with other Leads to coordinate activities between departments/shifts.
  • Inspects/verifies materials to the job to maintain organization standards.
  • Use Work Instruction documentation to train all workers in operation of equipment and processes.
  • Responsible for techs work effort and reports positive/negative efforts to the Plant Manager.
  • Coordinates and directs the activities of the wire production department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
  • Inspects products to verify production quality levels are met.
  • Supports cost improvement initiatives and implementation of programs related to operational efficiency.
  • Open/shut-down knowledge to maintain secure building.

Education / Experience

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Management, Engineering or related
  • 3 Years of Experience in Manufacturing
  • 2 Years of Experience in Management

Technical Skills

MicroSoft Office

Licenses / Certifications

  • Forklift Certification (propane), preferred
  • OSHA Certification (preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and bend frequently, up to 10 hours a day.
  • May be required to lift, up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to move and handle material.
