Job Description



  • Apply GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

  • Demonstrate and promotes the company vision

  • Support and promote company policies and procedures

  • Ensure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained; identify, prevent, or correct any departures from the quality system

  • Apply the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility

  • Proactively plan and multitask to maximize productivity

  • Demonstrate strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration



  • Foster motivation and morale

  • Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvements

  • Conduct semi-annual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, evaluate succession plans in preparation for growth

  • Confront and address problems, concerns and performance issues

  • Monitor direct reports work

  • Monitor and approve employees' time worked through time-entry system



  • Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT

  • Meet all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration

  • Supervise more complex projects and lead others in performing and meeting client's requirements

  • Provide consultation to clients on technical issues, including interpretation of results

  • Possess broad scope of technical expertise in multiple areas

  • Troubleshoot and solve both instrumental and method issues

  • Lead and write investigations independently, establish root cause and robust CAPA

  • Support and drive LEAN initiatives and operational improvements

  • Champion implementation of new techniques, technologies, and instrumentation

  • Support onboarding of new instrumentation

  • Continually evaluate systems and processes to improve overall productivity and quality

  • Expand self-awareness and develop leadership skills as defined; attend applicable leadership training based on identified needs

  • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all state and federal employment regulations

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner




Qualifications




Basic Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related degree concentration

  • Minimum of 15 years in pharmaceutical drug product/substance analytical testing cGMP laboratory with focus on commercial release programs and at least 10 years in a leadership position directly overseeing laboratory staff


The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:



  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.

  • Familiar with Empower and analytical chemistry techniques/instrumentation (i.e. U/HPLC, Dissolution)

  • Experience in contract laboratory environment

  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.

  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment.

  • Highly organized and able to find/communicate information in a timely manner.

  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and a collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.

  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.

  • Persuasive with details and facts.

  • Delegates responsibility effectively.
