SUMMARY: Responsible for the planning, development and administration of comprehensive and competitive Health & Welfare and Retirement programs that support the company's benefit and wellness strategy.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and execute a strategic vision for employee benefits, aligning with company goals and industry best practices. Oversee health, welfare, retirement, and other benefits programs, ensuring effective administration and communication. Manage broker and other vendor relationships to assess the cost, quality, and value effectiveness of our health and welfare program. Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and manage relationships. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other relevant legislation. Manage benefits budgets, analyze financial data, and implement cost-control measures without sacrificing employee satisfaction. Lead efforts to communicate benefit programs effectively, ensuring employees understand and can fully utilize their benefits. Use analytics to assess the effectiveness of current programs and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage and mentor benefits team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the benefits team and work collaboratively with HR, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure operational alignment. Develop and implement employee and leadership educational programs related to overall health and wellness including retirement financial planning.
PEOPLE MANAGER: Y EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, benefit administration or a related field; or a combination of post high school education and related experience.
EXPERIENCE: 8 years' demonstrated experience in benefits management, including implementing and analyzing benefit programs in a corporate environment for all levels within the organization.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Familiarity with HRIS software, such as Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft HCM.
COMPETENCIES: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills; excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to mentor, coach, train and supervise employees. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new processes as well as evaluate their effectiveness, develop improvements and/or recommend changes or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change, cultivate a shared vision with others, and motivate others to transfer vision into action. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to interpret and apply related federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations related to the administration of human resources. Demonstrated knowledge of program design and administration which include governance guidelines, compliance and reporting requirements. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate effectiveness with contract negotiation, development and administration.
OTHER: Ability to travel as necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
