Project SEARCH, established at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 1996, is a training program designed to prepare young adults with disabilities for success in competitive integrated employment. The program operates through partnerships in a business setting, where full workplace immersion helps teach and develop competitive work skills.


Job Description:


The Project SEARCH instructor for the University of Oklahoma National Center for Disability and Education Training, based at INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital, will lead the Project SEARCH program at this site. This role includes developing and coordinating the program and instructing enrolled students/interns. The instructor will deliver the employability skills curriculum and work closely with each intern and their team to help the intern achieve competitive integrated employment.


Essential Duties:



  • Oversees the administrative activities of a designated program or programs.

  • Responsible for daily program operations including staff supervision, program evaluations, and developing long-range plans.

  • Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports.

  • Ensures compliance with program regulations.

  • Plans and coordinates program events.

  • Develops and administers budgets for assigned projects and programs.

  • Negotiates and administers grants and contracts.

  • Plans and oversees project management.

  • Develops policies and procedures.

  • Lead and schedule various meetings. Plan and implement open houses for recruitment.

  • Develop and implement a recruitment plan. Schedule and coordinate intern selection and interviews.

  • Instruct interns on employability skills (self -advocacy, communication, teamwork, etc.).

  • Assess and communicate intern progress; provide interventions as needed. Identify and implement necessary accommodations for interns.

  • Monitor attendance, teach absence reporting, and complete required paperwork.

  • Support interns in finding independent transportation options and link them with resources to aid in their employment and independence.

  • Coordinate with job coaches and business liaisons to develop work rotations.

  • Maintain communication and collaboration with program partners.

  • Maintain confidentiality and display a professional, positive attitude.

  • Keep files and data updated, complete required training.

  • Implement Model Fidelity, including Voc Fit.

  • Performs related duties as assigned or as needed to successfully fulfill functions of the position.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:



  • 48 months of related experience.


Equivalent/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree to equal 96 months of related experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports.

  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively.

  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles.

  • Ability to interact effectively with the university Staff and Faculty

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer skills, including being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
