To perform a broad range of engineering, operational and analytical duties required for the accurate measurement and control of gas and liquids on company pipeline and midstream assets.
**Position may be filled as Engineer I, II, Engineer III, or Engineer Sr pending candidate experience. *** Position may be filled in a field office location in addition to the listed office locations.Minimum requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related field.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Working Conditions:
Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours, and participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Travel in the 5-40% range depending on project schedules. This frequently requires staying overnight.
Candidates will be required to clear a drug screen and complete a background check, including a credit report for certain positions after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
Years of experience in a past job in measurement engineering or volume processing.
Experience with CO2 processing, measurement, and transportation, including dense phase and gas phase.
Experience with NH3 and/or H2 processing, measurement, and transportation.
Experience with pipeline contaminant monitoring analyzers and mitigation practices.
Experience with gas chromatography.
Experience with product sampling and conditioning best practices.
Experience with gathering assets and Bureau of Land Management regulations.
Knowledge of energy industry measurement standards such as AGA, API, GPA, etc.
Knowledge of transmission pipeline operations.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical construction drawings and diagrams, cause/effect diagrams and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID's).
Working knowledge of Bristol/Fisher EFM hardware and software.
Familiarity with AutoCAD.
Experience writing SQL queries for data analysis.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis methods.
Knowledge of natural gas measurement practices.
Knowledge of crude oil measurement practices.
Compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be $80,000-$160,000/yr.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Provide support to field operations to resolve technical problems related to measurement, including accuracy, repeatability, balancing, witnessing, auditing, and routine or annual verifications.
Provide measurement subject matter expertise to other engineering disciplines, operations personnel, the control center, and project management.
Keep abreast of industry trends, standards, and changes.
Review, revise, create and update Tallgrass engineering standards, policies, procedures and best practices.
Schedule and coordinate field work as needed.
Review design and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory bodies.
Conduct feasibility studies including manpower, cost, and lead time estimates for potential new projects.
Guide and train less experienced engineers and technicians.
Work is generally independent / self-led, with collaboration with team members when appropriate.
Engage with drafters, technicians, and other engineers as necessary to complete projects.
Balance long-term project work with immediate and urgent support needs from field personnel.
Develop new solutions to measurement and control problems, lead engineering efforts in the implementation of those solutions.
Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.
