We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.

Meet the team:

The Sensor Design and Development team drives sensor design for current and future biosensing products for Research and Development. We are part of the R&D organization that designs products that make a positive impact to our users every day. The team has membership across many subject areas and experience levels, for a dynamic team environment where a diverse set of backgrounds lead to innovative solutions. This role will lead technical projects related to the sensor substrate (primarily the sensor wire) and provide domain expertise focused on the sensor substrate and its design.

Where you come in:

  • You are a subject matter expert on wires or metal components, particularly for medical applications, and will use that knowledge to explore new sensor designs, support current products, and improve existing sensor designs.

  • You will drive understanding of how the sensor interacts with other aspects of the sensing system to provide complete understanding of how material properties impact sensor performance.

  • You will lead multi-functional teams focused on sensor substrate design, marrying your expertise to improve products and innovate on new sensing opportunities.

  • You will design experiments on the bench and partner with pre-clinical and clinical colleagues to characterize how sensor and wire design impacts sensor performance and solve specific sensor substrate issues.

  • You will organize and compile data from disparate streams for analysis and communication to a variety of audiences.

  • You will prepare documentation and deliverables under the Design Control process to support sensor design activities throughout the R&D lifecycle.

What makes you successful:

  • You bring materials, particularly metals, knowledge to the forefront to influence sensor design, with a background in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, with significant experience in medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry.

  • You have expertise in using wires for applications, preferably medical device applications, with a strong background in material robustness characterization.

  • You are adept at self-directed projects, managing project teams, timelines, and cross-functional relationships in an R&D environment.

  • You have excellent technical writing skills for writing protocols, technical reports, and experimental designs.

  • You communicate clearly and concisely and will participate in teams both within R&D and with our Ops partners, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills for effective management of working relationships.

  • You can think creatively to solve complex problems and apply innovative solutions to sensor substrate design, including continuous improvements to current and future designs.

What you'll get:

  • A front row seat to life changing CGM technology. Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community.

  • A full and comprehensive benefits program.

  • Growth opportunities on a global scale.
