As the Research Manager, you will focus on leading strategic initiatives and projects with a broad scope encompassing front end innovation through commercialization.  This role provides technical program direction and leads a team to develop and commercialize innovation programs for the Scott® brand to drive growth.

In this role, you will:


  • Lead a team of up to 8 direct reports to develop and commercialize product solutions to deliver unmet customer needs in the key segment areas. 


  • Partner with business and market research team members to develop and execute plans to gather consumer insights in support of strategic business plan goals


  • Lead and ensure product development meets consumer needs and helps ensure line of sight to process capability and visibility to capital and product supply constraints


  • Develop product timelines and learning plans to integrate into project team to understand critical milestones and priorities


  • Develop and manage the budget and resource forecast relating to projects


  • Drive key business decisions relative to project launches, success criteria, approach, etc. 


  • Effectively plan and complete product and project responsibilities on time. 


  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members.


  • Maintain technical and scientific expertise for Program Leader accountability.  Be able to communicate impact of technical developments for Kimberly-Clark.


  • Travel up to 20% to various locations including manufacturing sites.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science or engineering discipline and at least 10 years industrial experience or another equivalent combination or education and experience


  • Demonstrated leadership skills providing work direction to a multi-functional team including internal and external resources. 


  • Ability to influence people at all organizational levels, drive decision-making and execute complex projects on demanding timelines.


  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and opportunities to leadership.


Preferred (not essential, but desired):


  • Prior experience with Family Care brands and/or tissue technology


  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions/departments to drive balanced business decisions


  • Experience working closely with the brand team members to ensure projects align with both short and long term brand strategies


  • Experience with key process and tools including IMF, LEAN Problem Solving
