The Waste Profiling Specialist will be responsible for providing technical and pricing support related to regulated and non-regulated materials managed as part of Envita's Customer Programs. Reporting to the Supply Chain Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will support the initial evaluation, outlet identification, profiling and approval/acceptance process with supplier partners which support the business.
The individual selected for this role will have proven experience working as a part of a dynamic team, interfacing with both internal and external Supplier Partners throughout North America to provide waste manufacturing by-product support. Envita is continuing to grow a high-performance team that will provide efficient and innovative solutions and support active management of our customer's by-products.
The ideal candidate will have experience within environmental industry with a focus on waste and by-product management.
Essential Functions
Supports the development and generation of waste management activities by serving as a resource for completing waste streams, profiles, and other necessary documents in support of disposal and recycling activities.
Responsible for timely and accurate waste stream creation and profile approval by all responsible parties - generator, TSDF (Treatment, Storage, Disposal Facility), and internal regulatory checks.
Monitors and recertifies waste profiles as they approach their expiration dates to ensure the TSDFs will accept waste at the time of delivery.
Support operations team members concerning the hazardous waste industry, competition, partner capabilities, cost, and profiling.
Assist in reconciling waste profile discrepancies and off-spec requests from TSDFs.
Works with and supports our Program Managers in developing their portfolios to review and identify opportunities within existing portfolios.
Evaluate facility waste streams for new customers to determine where the existing supplier network can be utilized to meet customer needs and drive efficiency and optimization where available.
Develops and maintains TSDF partner relationships as a liaison between customer and supplier.
Education Qualifications
High School or Equivalent
Bachelor's Degree preferably in the natural sciences or equivalent work experience.
Experience Qualifications
Minimum 2-years' experience in waste profiling, lab packing, or similar experience in the hazardous waste industry
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of waste disposal regulation and processes is required; some basic knowledge of chemistry is a plus.
Understanding of regulations (i.e., RCRA, DOT, EPA, HM-181, 40hr Hazwoper, State and Local).
Knowledge of the waste disposal industry (TSDF network and disposal technologies) with an understanding of the EPA codes, RCRA regulations, and related DOT shipping requirements.
Ability to read a Safety Data Sheet and chemical analytical reports.
Knowledge of different TSDF partner disposal capabilities.
Experience dealing with internal and external customers and partners at various levels of the organization.
Oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate throughout the organization with all stakeholders.
Multi-tasking and strong prioritization capabilities.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Must practice effective time management skills and follow through timely on requests.
Must be able to take initiative and work independently as well as with a team.
Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
