DevOps Engineers are team members of an agile development process. They are responsible for the design and implementation of applications' build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with internal IT team members to monitor performance of applications, assist with automated and manual test designs, drive quality controls in applications, and maintain the health and security of the application deployment environments. DevOps Engineers must be able to adjust to constant business change; common types of changes include new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies.
Essential Duties:
Work collaboratively with project teams and infrastructure teams to facilitate automated deployments of both applications and the underlying infrastructure
Build, deploy, and maintain automation tools and scripts to perform automated deployments
Azure DevOps administration
Manage application security and governance, ensure implementation follows standards
Manage application monitoring and alerting
Triage and fix operation issues that occur
Stay current with technology trends - focusing on cloud and automation
Involved in Level I on-call support
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or 7+ years of equivalent experience
Experience with scripting languages: PowerShell, Ruby, Python, JavaScript (PowerShell preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Azure across PaaS and IaaS resource types
Experience with automation/configuration management using Azure DevOps or an equivalent
Ability to use a wide variety of technologies and cloud services; experience with Microsoft Azure
A working understanding of the following:
Windows Server administration
Virtual networking
Web development (JavaScript, C#, HTML)
Database development (SQL Server, Oracle)
Virtualization platforms
Agile
Source control systems (TFS, Git, VSTS)
Enterprise backup and recovery solutions
Disaster recovery
