Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking an accountant to join our client's dynamic team of professionals at their Waltham, Massachusetts office. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting and tax, with the ability to provide exceptional client service while working on a variety of accounting and tax-related projects. This role offers the opportunity for growth and career development within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance: Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
2. Accounting Services: Assist with financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and accounting services for a diverse client base.
3. Client Interaction: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, addressing their inquiries and providing financial advice and guidance as necessary.
4. Tax Planning: Assist in tax planning and strategy development to optimize clients' tax positions and financial well-being.
5. Research: Stay current on tax laws and regulations, conduct research, and provide recommendations to clients based on changing tax codes.
6. Audit Support: Collaborate with audit teams on various financial audits, including data analysis and reconciliation.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to provide integrated financial solutions and ensure client needs are met efficiently.
8. Professional Development: Stay updated on industry best practices and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance expertise and skills.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA certification preferred.
3. 3-5 years of relevant experience in public accounting, including tax and accounting services.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
5. Proficiency in accounting and tax software, such as QuickBooks, ProSystem FX, and Excel.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions.
8. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
