Job Description:
A Part Time Automotive Apprentice Technician is an individual who is in the process of learning the intricacies of the Journeyman Technician trade under the guidance of a skilled employer. This position involves a commitment to work for a fixed period at an introductory wage, while actively engaging in a comprehensive learning program.
Responsibilities: • Participate actively in the apprenticeship program, focusing on learning the essential skills and techniques of the Journeyman Technician trade. • Follow the instructions provided by the skilled employer, working under their supervision to gain practical experience and proficiency in the field. • Adhere to the terms outlined in the Apprenticeship Agreement. • Engage in approved schedules of work experience through employment, ensuring exposure to various aspects of the trade. • Dedicate time and effort to theoretical instruction related to the Journeyman Technician trade, as prescribed by the apprenticeship standards. • Seek clarification and guidance when encountering challenges or unfamiliar tasks, demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and development. • Always comply with safety protocols and regulations, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace. • Maintain accurate records of work hours, tasks performed, and skills acquired, contributing to the assessment and evaluation process of the apprenticeship program.
Qualifications: • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to commence the apprenticeship. • High school diploma or equivalent qualification. • Strong interest in pursuing a career in the Journeyman Technician trade. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills. • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic work environment. • Basic understanding of mechanical and technical concepts is advantageous but not mandatory. • Commitment to fulfilling the requirements of the apprenticeship program, including the fixed period of low-wage employment.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $22.85 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.
