The Environmental Studies (ES) Department at Colby College invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in environmental policy to begin September 1, 2024. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, or a related interdisciplinary environmental field as well as a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Candidates who are ABD with an expected completion date prior to September 1, 2024 will be considered. Teaching responsibilities will include five courses. The candidate will teach an intermediate-level course in international environmental policy, electives in their area of specialty, and possibly teach a methods course or co-teach the introductory course for environmental majors and minors. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, international policy dimensions of climate change, food systems/agriculture, water resources, pollution, and environmental justice. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the campus community.
