Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Experiential Training, this individual is responsible for the effective coordination of the simulation program and operation of the simulation center housed within the COPHS. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for the simulation program and maintains the facilities, capital, and consumable equipment. Additionally, this person will provide simulation training to both internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with COPHS administration, faculty, staff and students.


Essential Duties Summary:



  • Plans, schedules, and develops simulation events and activities and required training for execution of simulation activities.

  • Utilizes SimulationIQ, ExamSoft, and Simulation Equipment (mannequins, cameras, etc.) to carry out simulation activities.

  • Manages the operation of the simulation center during activities while creating and maintaining a respectful and professional working environment.

  • Works with the Office of Educational Effectiveness to ensure content alignment and to collect and report outcomes data.

  • Performs administrative duties including, but not limited to, maintenance of the facilities (supplies, equipment, technology, inventory, etc.), record-keeping and data collection.

  • Researches vendors for supplies and equipment and makes purchasing decisions within delegated authority.

  • Completes the administrative processes for departmental operations (procurement, compliance, risk management, marketing, and reporting).

  • Develops and manages the standardized patient program, including recruitment, training, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Manges the use of simulation curriculum for teaching and learning by working with faculty, staff and students to implement activities.

  • Stays abreast on industry best practices and recommends process improvements to leadership while keeping current on changes in accreditation requirements for the simulation program.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's degree.


Required Licensing/Certification:

Healthcare simulation certification (CHSOS or CHSE) preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge of:

Work Experience:



  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in health education simulation or higher educational technology and assessment.






  • Community liaison experience preferred.


Working/Environmental Conditions:



  • Conditions are those of a typical office environment, requiring frequent oral and written communication with college employees, students, and vendors, the presentation of information on-line and in face-to-face settings, and the ability to enter data and written communications in electronic format in a timely manner.

  • Physical set up and take down of a variety of healthcare simulation manikins and clinical lab environments with attention to detail as assigned.
