Job Summary:

The University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work invites applications for three in-person, academic professional track, Assistant Professor of Practice positions.


We are especially interested in adding faculty who will strengthen our capacity in the areas of direct practice as it relates to Mental Health/Substance Misuse, Community/Administrative Practice, and Children and Families. Candidates should address their interests, strengths and experiences working and collaborating within these interdisciplinary domains in the application cover letter. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • 80% Teaching: Eight classes per academic year (4:4 load) online, face-to-face, or hybrid

  • 20% Service: To the School of Social Work, University, Community and Profession




These essential duties and responsibilities are subject to change.
Required Qualifications:



  • A doctorate in social work or in a related field. ABD or degree completion within 2 years will be considered

  • A master's degree in social work

  • A minimum of two years post-master's practice experience

  • Teaching experience whether in the classroom or via professional development offerings and trainings

  • Capacity to teach across multiple course topics and program levels (bachelor's, master's and doctoral)

  • Ability to teach via various instructional delivery methods including service-learning, experiential learning, and virtual/online.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Expertise to teach and develop courses in the areas of Mental Health/Substance Misuse, Community/Administrative Practice, and Children and Families

  • Evidence of a commitment to teamwork, service, and leadership
