We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Associate to join a well established manufacturing company located in Independence. This is a hybrid role of in-office and remote! The Senior Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the financial reporting process, as well as in the development, implementation, and upkeep of accounting principles and best practices to produce timely and precise financial statements. This position involves overseeing daily accounting tasks and proposing process improvement initiatives to enhance business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing: Enter and process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other transactions on schedule.
Financial Close Support: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close to ensure timely reporting.
Analysis and Reporting: Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports; offer insights and improvements.
Audit and Compliance: Support annual audits and recommend solutions for complex transactions.
Special Projects: Work with leadership on sales tax reconciliation and other process enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Accounting (preferred), with 5+ years of experience.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.
Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in Microsoft Office and General Ledger systems.
Strong communication skills for clear, concise reporting.
