Job Description:


Senior Accountant - Operations in Woodland Hills, CA





As a Senior Account with a focus on Operations, you will ensure timely and accurate accounting for metal and freight-related activities throughout the month-end close cycle, such as metal price variance breakdown, freight processing, vouchering of metal receipts including outside processors, and processing of mill and other vendor claims.

What you'll do:





  • Voucher and validate metal receipts and resolve any potential issues.




  • Coordinate with Silgan plants and metal vendors to resolve incorrect Advance Shipping Notification transitions.




  • Communicate and resolve any payment discrepancies with Procurement and metal vendors.




  • Prepare metal price variance analysis for customer pass-through and present to Sourcing & Pricing.




  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including but not limited to price adjustments, rebates, tariffs, metal route, and monthly true up, and perform account reconciliations.




  • Process all mill/vendor claims, manage the collection process, and prepare the monthly reporting deck for executives.





What you need to have:





  • BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, or related.




  • 5 or more years of experience in accounting, finance, or business.




  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel skills and intermediate proficiency in all other MS Office products.




  • Be in the office five days a week.




  • Solid organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing abilities.




  • High level of professionalism and effective communication skills.
