Overview
Maintains a safe work environment for all employees by identifying hazards, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety through training, regular inspections, and ongoing risk assessments.
Responsibilities
Implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Deliver and/or coordinate training programs focused on safety practices, emergency response, proper equipment usage, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other essential safety topics. Ensure employees are up to date with annual training requirements.
Perform routine safety inspections and risk assessments across the facility and work processes. Proactively identify hazards, evaluate potential risks, and recommend corrective measures to eliminate or mitigate safety concerns.
Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses. Prepare thorough incident reports, identify root causes, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Ensure incidents are reported to relevant authorities in a timely and accurate manner.
Stay informed on the latest OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Ensure the facility’s safety practices meet or exceed regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
Accompany employees to medical clinic when necessary.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant certifications such as OSHA Certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a safety coordinator or similar role within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing safety programs and conducting safety training.
Understanding of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment methodologies. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the unique hazards associated with them.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
