Responsible for the underwriting of consumer and Home Equity Line credit requests for incoming applications and rendering credit decisions consistent with internal policies, investor and regulatory requirements.
The salary for this role will be between $55,000-$85,000. The specific salary offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Project friendliness and professionalism in both appearance and attitude when dealing with customers in order to present a positive Riverview image.
Evaluate risk and set terms for approval, modification, subordination or declination of loan requests moderate in nature.
Assure compliance with regulations and Riverview credit policy for documentation of Consumer loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit including non-originated loans and lines.
Full understanding of software applications to include but not limited to:
Systems as listed below but not limited to
Encompass
Abrigo
LaserPro
Other in-house software applications
Internet based applications
Provide customer service both internally and externally using problem-solving skills to satisfy customer needs and ensure accurate resolution to customer requests.
Prepare Home Equity Line of Credit and Consumer loan documents.
Serve as backup Funding Specialist for Consumer loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit complex in nature.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform appraisal reviews as needed.
Participates in and completes training objectives with passing scores.
Other duties as assigned.
Follow all Riverview's policies and procedures.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Daily contact with the Supervisor and/or Loan Operations Manager to receive direction and interpretation of existing and new procedures.
Daily contact with customers and branches to provide information and assistance regarding the processing and underwriting of loan applications.
Frequent contact with representatives of businesses who provide necessary confirmation, documentation, etc., of various types of loan related information (i.e., appraisers, title and credit companies, real estate agencies, construction companies and various government agencies).
Frequent contact and support of the Underwriting personnel.
Occasional contact with members of professions with whom Riverview consults from time to time, i.e., attorneys, accountants and other financial intermediaries.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Actual Mortgage Underwriting experience including FHLMC (“Freddie Mac”) underwriting knowledge is preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or seven or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a professional manner.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The basic skills associated with the general use of computers and other business office equipment.
Ability to offer flexibility in a changing work environment is imperative.
