Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the development and management of high level capital projects through the entire project life cycle, from concept through implementation and close out. The Sr. Project Engineering Manager is responsible for conceptual development, project deliverables, budgetary management and timeline adherence. Oversight of any project engineers assigned to incumbent's area as well as local maintenance managers in assigned area with regard to project execution. Also, this position will coach and train project engineers in the HFS engineering project management process. This role is responsible to create and implement all engineering specification in accordance with the HFS specification process and ensure all project are being delivered in full compliance with the current specifications. Additionally, this role will support compliance with insurance company and any other regulatory entity, via the engineering specifications and its implementation.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
•Partner with SC Finance and Commercial Finance as needed to assist in business case development for assigned projects
•Travel to sites as required to develop scope of work for new and or existing capital projects to include; field measurements and development of concept CAD drawings, product matrix sheets, choke point analysis, BFDs' and theory of operation
•Engage and work with suppliers to determine best in class equipment based on the need ,negotiate and acquire quotes for budgetary needs
•Manage and oversee project budget tracking
•Coordinate and follow Design Review protocols to include; scheduling meetings, keeping meeting notes, revise scope, drawings, etc. as needed , and completing each DR phase effectively
•Work cross-functionally to ensure projects meet the needs of all key stakeholders to include but not be limited to Quality, Food Safety, Planning, Operations, T&W, Sanitation, and Maintenance.
•Manage purchase orders related to capital projects
•Assign and oversee projects that are delegated to either Project Engineers or Maintenance Managers to implement
•Mentor and coach Project Engineers and Maintenance Managers in your respective area with regard to proper Project Management Practices and the sharing of best practices across the organization
•Communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization
•Travel to project sites on a regular basis to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and deliverables
•Attend Factory Acceptance Tests as required to validate equipment purchases
•Lead the development and implementation of the HFS Automation Strategy
•Assist in the development of HFS best practices and standardization
•Assist in the development of the annual capital budget for HFS
•Provide weekly reporting of all projects under your control.
•Provide project management expertise and coaching to all project engineers.
•Develop a formal document process to excel in FAT and SAT Processes, and communicate, train and coach all project engineers.
•Lead the definition process for all Engineering Specifications and validation with all the engineering teams and other functions.
•Enforce engineering specifications compliance, with recurrent formal reviews.
•Support the preferred suppliers development with procurement.

Physical Requirements:

•Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis
•Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an infrequent basis
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering preferred.
•Experience in a manufacturing environment required preferably in a food environment.
•5-7 years or more of relevant business experience in an Engineering role knowledge of food industry a plus. Additional background in Project Management of projects in the range of $1-10MM.
