Position Summary
Provides specialized technical support to ensure the efficient implementation, operation and maintenance of all related advanced technical security systems; including card access, physical security, digital video systems, proprietary databases, and fire/life safety systems for the Home Office and designated field offices.
Successful candidate will work at the Home Office in Erie, PA.
The Hiring Manager will also consider candidates for Senior Facilities Security Systems Administrator. Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administers the Advanced Technical Security systems at The ERIE. Works with internal staff, system vendors and IT personnel as necessary to implement, integrate, update and test systems.
Maintains and applies an in-depth knowledge of ERIE's Advanced Technical Security systems. Provides direct support to the company and section on all security system related initiatives and problem resolutions.
In conjunction with senior staff, IT personnel and system integrators, installs, troubleshoots and maintains all technical security systems hardware and software ensuring efficient and effective operations. Assists with the design and development of all technical specifications for implementing or upgrading ERIE's technical security systems.
Provides a second level tier of support for user and system related problems. Recommends procedures and solutions to correct system problems. Coordinates and implements problem resolution with senior staff. Monitors all security system/hardware related problems to determine progress and quality. Ensures the completion of all required problem management tasks and obtains appropriate approvals for problem resolution and closure. Prepares and coordinates detailed reports and documentation regarding all problem management.
Conducts on-going risk analysis and physical security audits at all ERIE facilities and corporate functional areas to identify points of vulnerability and to ensure all security and life safety systems are operational and maintained properly. Documents and evaluates all points of vulnerability and recommends risk avoidance and reduction strategies.
Leads all required inspections, audits and testing related to all systems used by Facilities Security at the Home Office and designated field offices as directed. Coordinates problem resolution with senior staff and system vendors. Ensures completion of all required documentation and metrics per codes and local jurisdiction.
Assists with the development of standards and processes for all technical security systems. Assists with the administration and management of all related systems to ensure best practice guidelines and compliance standards are followed.
Assists with the development and implementation of audits and operational procedures to ensure all security and life safety systems at the Home office and designated Field Offices are operational and maintained properly. Ensures their conformance with company and industry best practices and standards.

Works with staff on the development of training programs and applications for security and fire/life safety systems for the Home Office and designated field offices. Conducts training sessions as directed.
Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to card access hardware and software, physical security, digital video, and fire/life safety systems. As directed, conducts research and communicates news and information to senior staff. Attends industry seminars and/or training sessions as required.
Participates in special projects as required. Acts as a central point of contact for all related technical security system issues on a 24/7 basis.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications or related field or;
Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunication or related field and two years of additional related experience or;
High school diploma and related professional certification(s) and two years of additional related experience or;
High school diploma and four years of additional related experience, required.
Additional Experience
Four years experience with security and/or related systems, including detailed knowledge of the design, programming and troubleshooting of one or more of the following: card access systems, integrated security systems, hybrid IT-based video systems, intelligent fire alarm systems, or related information technology systems required.
Advanced understanding of digital and analog signaling protocols, communications, information systems and networks required.
Familiarity with and understanding of security and fire/life safety policies, codes and practices required.
Previous experience with low voltage electronics preferred.
Expert knowledge of one or more of the following: card access/security systems, including the system 9000 hardware,
IDentiPASS software and digital video system components and software preferred.
In-depth knowledge of intelligent fire alarm systems preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Windows, database, spreadsheet and report writing software preferred.
Some travel, including overnight stays required.
This position requires the incumbent to be on call 24/7, and restrict vacations during peak periods.
Designations and/or Licenses
NICET level III or IV certification or Electronic Security Association NTS Certified Systems Integrator (CSI) or Certified Service Technician (CST) or ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification preferred.
