This position focuses on monitoring and maintaining the security of KENTCorporation’s Information Technology environment through analysis, auditing, reporting, resolving security incidents, and both the implementation and remediation of automated alerts for security incidents on network, client, and server devices. Remediation of security related incidents frequently requires working with appropriate IT team members to ensure proper mitigation steps are taken in the appropriate time frame.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and perform security analysis and mitigation using security tools including, but not limited to:
Rapid7 Insight Platform
Microsoft 365 Security Suite
Ivanti Endpoint Management
ManageEngine Solutions
Cisco Umbrella
Monitor security for all supported systems including patches, vulnerability mitigations, and configurations.
Manage user Email security awareness campaigns.
Actively recommend, design, and build security processes (work instructions, policy).
Contribute to on-going process improvement.
Investigate security incidents, remediate and/or act as the security liaison to ensure incidents are remediated and ensure implementation of prevention methods for future incidents.
Proactively monitor on-prem and cloud environments to ensure compliance standards are up-to-date and best practice security configurations are utilized.
Ability to complete multiple simultaneous tasks and/or projects in a timely manner.
Ability to extend security knowledge into cloud computing environments.
Work collaboratively with all IT and non-IT resources.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Cyber Security and Information Assurance or related field and 4-5 years’ experience in the IS/IT field.
CompTIA Security+ and or security professional related equivalent certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Understand project management process methodology and when and how to get issues resolved and decisions made.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and conceptual skills.
Possess a strong working knowledge of email security configuration and implementations.
Possess solid working knowledge of security models within Microsoft Windows and other software application systems.
Possess a solid working knowledge of Networking technologies, architectures, and implementations.
Possess experience with Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
Knowledge of reporting and querying tools.
Must be familiar with standard IT concepts, practices, and procedures around client/server, hardware/software and security.
Must be familiar with ITIL processes.
Experience preferred in Rapid7 Insight Platform and Microsoft 365 Security.
Experience preferred with log management and analysis.
Experience preferred with chain-of-custody best practices for security incident handling.
TRAVEL:
Requires the ability and willingness to travel as needed to various Kent Corporation locations.
OTHER:
Requires the ability and willingness to work outside the schedule of 7 a.m.-7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
