Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for achieving the targeted National Account sales goals and objectives as assigned by developing and implementing strategies that effectively connect operational capabilities to customer opportunities. Continually evaluates the sales strategies and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions. This position is required to have C-suite relationships with the majority of the top 10 National Accounts in the West. Additionally, this person must have significant relationships with the majority of the top 20 Western chains with the ability to gain an audience quickly, along with demonstrated large volume wins. The person in this position also needs to possess the desire for upward mobility as OSI looks to the future.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Job manages a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage the team.

• Job leads/supervises/manages 1-5 employees.

• Develop short and long-term strategic plans for sales that align with, and support, established organizational objectives targeted for OSI's National Accounts.

• Manage and grow assigned accounts to the targeted volume and profitability levels.

• Prospect and close targeted new accounts in the principal product areas of focus as assigned by the organization. Specific sales by target product area will be established as a primary goal objective.

• Build and maintain effective long-term partnering relationships with customer leadership that provides the organization with a stable customer base and insight into future needs.

• Continuously review and analyze external market and competitor trends as well as internal manufacturing capability to ensure continued alignment between sales plans and environment; make and communicate adjustments to plans and strategies as needed.

• Develop, manage, and motivate any assigned direct reports with skills that enable them to execute against plan; provide required training, resources, coaching, tools, and information to be successful.

• Participate in a variety of industry, civic, and related events as a representative of the company to enhance customer partnerships, identify potential sales and business opportunities, and advocate for the organization.

• Build effective relationships and work closely with leaders of other functions including, but not limited to, Operations, Finance, Commercialization, Supply Chain, and Legal to achieve sales goals.

• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills:

• 10 years of experience in related field is preferred.


  • Ten or more years of proven sales success, including significant relationships, with national accounts within the food manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex and profitable food manufacturing sales contracts in National Account channel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both internally and externally to achieve established goals using verbal and written communications.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing, supply chain, and commercialization processes that support sales initiatives.

• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Preferred Education:

• BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.

• Sales and Marketing or equivalent business knowledge, analytical ability, and communication skills acquired through previous experience preferred

Work Environment:

• Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.

• Work conditions are typical of an office environment.

• This role requires 30% domestic travel.

• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds

• Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.

• Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
