Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
Weigh and purchase inbound scrap, obtaining required information from customers for all transactions. Complete purchasing and shipping documents.
Control traffic patterns in yard.
Perform general office administration duties.
Serve as a back-up cashier, greeter and possibly other positions as needed.
Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other teammates as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
Must be able to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
Must be able to handle multiple priorities while providing a high level of support in a fast-paced environment.
Must have excellent customer service, written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.
Must have the willingness to go the extra mile learning the scrap metal recycling industry.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.
Computer experience, including Microsoft Excel and Word and the ability to learn in house systems.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Flexible to work overtime in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
