The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. The HR Generalist supports and manages the administration of the HR policies, procedures, and programs. This includes responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll administration, recruiting/talent of hourly, maintaining employee records within the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and assists with all onboarding processes of new hires. The HR Generalist also consults on and investigates associate open door concerns and brings resolution to the associates’ concerns in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
Processes the company’s weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions. Through the utilization of the Ceridian Payroll HRIS, administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions are updated.
Administers all onboarding activities for new hires including the completion of all required pre-hire documents.
Responsible to assist with the recruitment and staffing of non-exempt level positions and occasionally exempt level positions.
Ensures adequate training in the areas of new employee orientation, safety training, management training, benefits etc.
Provides policy and procedure explanation and employee benefits information to newly hired employees as well as current employees when needed.
Administers coaching/ counseling and/ discipline as appropriate. Maintains a positive and effective relationship with the workforce in an effort to accomplish business goals.
Administers the attendance programs for hourly employees and leave administration (FMLA, STD, LTD) for all employees.
Assists in the implementation of HR programs at the assigned plant locations.
Performs a variety of administrative duties for the Human Resources Manager.
Prepares correspondence, memos and reports, documentation and filing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology or a related discipline is required.
PHR designation preferred.
A minimum of three years' experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity in manufacturing plant.
Benefits and payroll administration experience. (Prefer experience with Ceridian Dayforce (HRIS).
Experience working with relevant Employment legislation.
Strong influencing and negotiating skills to present alternatives, resolve conflicts and minimize high-risk situations and the ability to quickly establish credibility.
Strong interviewing and assessment skills, including behavioral interviewing techniques, and the ability to drive and manage the full recruitment cycle for hourly recruitment and salaried nonexempt positions.
Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
