The Facility Supervisor works under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager to accomplish facility objectives and is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse and leadership of all employees.
Responsibilities for the Facility Supervisor:
Facility/Warehouse
Daily shipment/load planning for warehouse staff and private fleet, including dispatching drivers with paperwork and providing traffic instructions
Manages traffic BOL's/orders
Inbound container grading analysis
Provides daily leadership and training to accomplish warehouse objectives to all employees
Supervisory
Monitors shift performance of warehouse employees for adherence to safety, quality, and production standards
Assists Human Resources, as needed, in areas such as employee relations, time reporting, investigative and/or disciplinary matters, training, performance reviews, etc.
Attends weekly KPI meetings
Safety/Compliance
Directs Safety Toolbox talks with employee team
Performs daily Safety Audits of warehouse staff
Completes incident reporting when needed
Assists with facility Early Intervention Program and promotes employee engagement
Works with EH&S on reporting and compliance issues
Administrative
Provides Customer Service to phone/email and in-person clients, and attends weekly CSR meetings, as needed
Works with sales representatives to assist with client accounts, as needed
Assists corporate accounting department, as needed, by scanning and analyzing PO's, processing credit card transactions, performing credit memos and rebills, etc.
Other duties as assigned. The responsibilities above are indicative of the typical duties of the Facility Manager, but should not be considered an exhaustive list, as they will work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure operational excellence of the facility in any area(s) needed.
Requirements for the Facility Supervisor:
College degree preferred, but not required
3+ years of related work experience (or a combination of education and experience) that would ensure a high probability of success in the role. Must have previous supervisory experience, ideally in a warehouse environment.
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
Previous Labor Relations experience
Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement
Self-directed team player
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
