The Tax Clerk will be responsible for providing effective and timely sales and property tax payments, and to facilitate problem resolution with multiple taxing jurisdictions.

Essential Functions
Reconcile G/L account balances and prepare sales tax returns for various states and local jurisdictions within prescribed deadlines.
Prepare property tax payments including client billing and processing for various states within prescribed deadlines.
Investigate problems arising from property tax bills by written or oral communication to city or county offices.
Prepare property tax renditions within prescribed deadlines.
File sales and property tax documents upon completion.
Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency.
Other Duties
File for proration of property tax for terminated units in states where applicable.
Scan property tax documents as needed.
Assist with occasional tax related special projects.

Job Specifications
Leadership Responsibility: This position has no leadership responsibilities.
Work Environment: This position is in Alpharetta, GA and operates in a professional office environment.
Position Type/Standard Schedule: This is a Full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday; 8am to 5 p.m.
Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required; Some college helpful.
2 years' office experience in a clerical position, tax exposure helpful.
Ability to operate a PC in a Windows environment.
Must be able to numerically key 10,000 keystrokes per hour
AS400 and JD Edwards experience helpful.
