Our manufacturing facilities located in Clackamas, OR, Vancouver, WA, and Rock Hill, SC allow us to serve diverse markets such as Agriculture, Industrial, Municipal, Rental, and Mining.

We are seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position is based 100% onsite at our Clackamas office, with working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

This is an exempt role, with a salary range of $60,000 - $75,000 (DOE)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

You will manage assigned commodities, establish and maintain supplier relationships, coordinating cross-functional team interaction, and integrating material requirements through the supply chain. The individual will be responsible for cost containment and reduction, new product introductions and related project support, sourcing new suppliers, and continuous development of existing suppliers for each assigned commodity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Evaluates existing suppliers and initiates the development of new suppliers and products.
  • Initiates, plans and implements supplier consolidation to benefit the company.
  • Develops and implements cost saving or profit improvement ideas
  • Qualifies and manages suppliers for assigned commodities by negotiating price, terms and conditions, delivery, quality and service levels.
  • Performs supplier reviews/evaluations for quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness.
  • Resolves supplier performance issues that negatively impact Cornell's ability to fill customer orders, e.g. nonconforming material returns and replacements, late deliveries, cost increases, etc.
  • Initiates RFP's and RFQ's from the simple to the complex.
  • Create, maintain, and update files on overall supplier performance and effectively report to management and others as required, including ensuring that vendor scorecards are created and published.
  • Responsible for procuring proper materials in the appropriate quantities from qualified suppliers utilizing the MRP system.
  • Actively contributes to inventory control by managing inventory levels of assigned commodities and by identifying and disposing of excess and inactive inventory.
  • Generates/processes ECN's and NCR's when appropriate.
  • Follows ISO procedures in support of continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to travel as required both domestic and abroad.
  • PC literate and experience utilizing Microsoft products Word Excel & Power Point.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with some related experience.
  • Prior utilization of MRP software for the fulfillment of ongoing production requirements.
  • Must be familiar with part qualification, first article acceptance and production readiness.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills including contract writing.
  • Global sourcing experience desired.
