Assoc Technical Writing Spec



Duration - 1 Year, Contract, W-2


Location - Irvine, CA (Hybrid/Remote considered for the right candidate)


Pay -$25.22 - $30.89



Summary:


The main function of associate specialist technical writing is to support development and creation of accurate operator's manuals and other user facing technical documentation such as service manuals for Advanced Patient Monitoring devices


Duties:


* Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and Sr. Technical Writers to author transfer of content from Framemaker into a DITA-XML based CMS platform.


* Review received translations against English master for visual accuracy.


* Review of the GUI text strings against the database and verify the screen shots for each translated Operator's Manual


* Assist in the maintenance of documentation in a standard format following established guidelines.


* Review documents for style, clarity, grammar, and punctuation



* Under guidance of a Sr. Technical writer, edit and create simple operator's manuals and other user facing technical documentation such as Service Manuals.


Qualifications:


* Bachelor's Degree & 0-2 years of experience required


* Experience in XMetal or other DITA-XML based Content Management System (CMS) programs highly preferred.


* Ability to use Framemaker and SQL database a highly preferred


* Excellent editing and proofreading skills


* Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams
