Position Overview

Our paid internship program provides a rich and rewarding hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to make a contribution to our organization. Our interns work in their course of study under close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager to learn about materials engineering within the building materials industry.

Wage: $25-35/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Gain an understanding of materials definitions and future usages.

  • Learn about materials characterizations within the building materials industry.

  • Assist with researching opportunities for use of various materials and byproducts in markets.

  • Participate in data collection and analysis of various material designs.

  • Provide feedback and insight on product scalability.

  • Support EPD development for all lines of business.

  • Assist with developing course content for various material and sustainability topics.

  • Support additional projects as needed.

  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Applicants must be entering currently enrolled in a Graduate program in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related program of study.

  • Must be available to work approximately 10-20 hours per week

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.

  • A valid driver's license, current authorization to work in the United States, and pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing.

Work Requirements:

  • This position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.
