This position functions as an associate engineer for the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) and is responsible for the execution of routine engineering tasks on industry-led projects relating to additive manufacturing, and commercialization of new technology through integrated design and manufacturing approaches; works closely with supervisor and more senior engineers to ensure projects are completed in accordance with project milestones, deliverable requirements, and within the cost and schedule agreed upon during project scoping; collaborates with CDME staff and students to coordinate multidisciplinary tasks; applies basic knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures gained through education; follows project management processes; travels to customer facilities for project meetings and technology implementation programs; supports professional development and student program activities of CDME in area of expertise; may assist supervisor and CDME division with revenue generation activities; performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
This position will require access to export controlled data and work in an export controlled facility. Eligibility for this position is restricted to "U.S. persons" as defined in U.S. export control regulations. "U.S. persons" include:
(1) U.S. citizens or nationals; (2) permanent residents; (3) asylees or refugees; or (4) individuals otherwise described as "protected individuals" pursuant to Title 8 U.S. Code Section 1324b(a)(3)(b).

Required qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Level Degree
Major: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar relevant/related experience.
Experience:
0-3 years experience in a R&D setting (i.e., planning and conducting R&D projects/programs in terms of technical and managerial functions).
Desired qualifications:
Master's Level Degree
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar relevant/related experience.
Experience:
Additive Manufacturing machines, including the Open Additive PANDA and EOS platforms. Experience with wire-EDM and metallography equipment, including auto-polishers. Experience using microscopes and related equipment.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $26.49- $34.81. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
