The Department of Accounting in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a Half-time position, to begin Fall 2024. Principles of Taxation, Advanced Taxation and Accounting Principles will be taught. The candidate will also oversee our Tax Vita program.
The duties in this role include:
Teach 4 classes in an academic year or an equivalent to 16 credit hours with 2 credit hours provided as release time to oversee the VITA program
Teach Principles of Taxation, Advanced Tax and Principle of Accounting courses
Be available to mentor students outside of class (during office hours)
Oversee LadderUp/VITA program
Stay current in the accounting field
Basic qualifications are required at the time of application:
Applicants must have a master's degree.
Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
Preferred qualifications (not required qualifications for the position):
CPA certification would be a plus.
Ideally, applicants will have an advanced degree, either an MST, PhD, or DBA in Accounting.
Experience working with diverse student populations and communities is highly desirable.
