As a Project Engineer at Koch Finishing Systems, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of automated paint finishing projects. Collaborating closely with customers, estimators, project managers, and various internal teams, you will be responsible for overseeing all design aspects of projects from conception to completion. Your diligence, technical expertise, and leadership skills will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer specifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
Collaborate with estimating team during preliminary engineering, project pursuit and proposal phases.
Take accountability for all design aspects of projects and supervise engineering and design team members.
Prepare comprehensive system layouts, floor plans, P&IDs, and mass balances for major projects.
Provide engineering leadership throughout design reviews, quality inspections, installation, and startup phases.
Ensure equipment and materials meet contract performance objectives, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Size and specify equipment and design elements, and order cost-efficient equipment as needed.
Prepare purchase specifications, develop Bill of Materials (BOMs), and support equipment expediting.
Assist manufacturing and field activities with technical interpretations and problem-solving.
Ensure regulatory compliance and industrial safety standards are met in all designs and specifications.
Organize and conduct reviews and problem-solving sessions within the organization.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated innovation and continuous improvement mindset.
Proficiency in Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Advance Steel, and Navisworks.
Proficiency in MS Office products.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Field experience with installation and startup of finishing or specialized processing equipment.
Professional Engineering license preferred.
